Review: Golden Son (Red Rising, #2)

Book Title: Golden Son

Author: Pierce Brown

Series: Red Rising Saga, Book 2

Published: 6th January, 2015

Synopsis:

As a Red, Darrow grew up working the mines deep beneath the surface of Mars, enduring backbreaking labor while dreaming of the better future he was building for his descendants. But the Society he faithfully served was built on lies. Darrow’s kind have been betrayed and denied by their elitist masters, the Golds—and their only path to liberation is revolution. And so Darrow sacrifices himself in the name of the greater good for which Eo, his true love and inspiration, laid down her own life. He becomes a Gold, infiltrating their privileged realm so that he can destroy it from within.

A lamb among wolves in a cruel world, Darrow finds friendship, respect, and even love—but also the wrath of powerful rivals. To wage and win the war that will change humankind’s destiny, Darrow must confront the treachery arrayed against him, overcome his all-too-human desire for retribution—and strive not for violent revolt but a hopeful rebirth. Though the road ahead is fraught with danger and deceit, Darrow must choose to follow Eo’s principles of love and justice to free his people.

He must live for more.

I have no thoughts right now. My brain is dead, I am in shock with this book. It has completely ruined me and exceeded my expectations. This book isn’t amazing, it is magnificent, it’s fantastic, it’s out of this world. I haven’t felt like this about a book in a very long time.

I am in love with these characters, it’s sad to say I would die for these characters, especially Darrow, Servo and Mustang. This trio of characters have ruined me in the best possible way and I cannot stop thinking about them.

The odds are against them, traitors are jumping out unexpectedly, mysteries and secrets are revealed and still they have to fight and manipulate their way through the chaos. To start and end wars, to fight and save people. These characters have gone through sooo much its ridiculous. I fear for them, I feel for them.

I don’t know what book 3 will bring, but bring it on!

Enjoy your reading time x
