Mini Review: Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry

2.5 stars

Like The Giver, Gathering Blue is well written and poses a mildly intense picture of a dystopian world. However, I didn't find Gathering Blue to be as moving or relevant as The Giver.

Gathering Blue works well as a children's or young adult's dystopian novel, but for an adult audience, it doesn't go quite far enough to strike that nerve of fear and worry. It's just not that thought-invoking.

This novel was a nice short break from the other (really dull) book I'm suffering through, but overall the story didn't feel like anything special.
